The project

Demand response programs are spreading slowly across Europe. The funding project "Dolphins" aims to contribute to changing this with an interdisciplinary project team. To this end, a solution will be developed that enables industrial end customers to participate in price- and incentive-based demand response programs. The goal is to determine the impact of such programs on the grid as well as on the evolution of electricity costs in the manufacturing industry.

Devolo project contribution

  • Provision of a communication infrastructure based on the Smart Meter Gateway (SMGW)
  • Investigation of communication options for DR signals and other sensor data at the field level via the SMGW
  • Simulation and implementation of sustainable and energy-optimized production planning
